Abstract:

This research is a qualitative research that teachers in the context of the ethical subjects of the Religious Culture and Ethical Knowledge course are trying to reveal what methods and techniques they use to contribute to the education of critical thinking. First, literature scan and then field research was done. In the framework of the research topic, the 12 religious culture and ethical knowledge teachers in the province of Kayseri have been discussed and the data obtained from the observations made in the teachers’ lessons to analyze the research findings, to be able to make a comprehensive assessment and to make more accurate comments on the data obtained in the discussions. The results of the research were later revealed and recommendations were made. The researchers used 5 teachers' narrative, 11 teachers' questions, 4 teachers' brain storms, 4 teachers' example events, 3 teachers' dramatization, 2 teachers' group work and the discussion method to contribute to the training of critical thinking in their classes. When interview and observation data are evaluated, the majority of teachers have the conclusion that they do not have sufficient knowledge and skills in their ability to use the methods and techniques, except questions and answers, in relation to critical thinking training.
