Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the levels of smartphone addiction and the stress and the levels of life satisfaction they perceive. The study is the type of research scan because students studying at the university are trying to determine the relationship between the levels of smartphone addiction and the stress and life satisfaction they perceive. The universe of research is formed by students studying at the University of Malatya Inönü in the 2018-2019 educational year. The study included 329 students. For the purpose of collecting the data of the study; Personal information form, Smart Phone Addiction Scale-Short Form, Life Doyum Scale and Detected Stress Scale were used. According to the results of the study, students use their smartphones more to follow and communicate social media. 17.6 percent of students perceive themselves addicted to smart phones, 41.6 percent are not addicted to smart phones, and 40.7 percent do not know. It has been found that there is a meaningful relationship between the levels of smartphone addiction and the levels of life satisfaction with a low negative level, and between the levels of smartphone addiction and the stress levels they perceive with a low positive level.
