Abstract:

The aim of the study is to investigate whether different types of obstacles in individuals have an impact on the level of entrepreneurship. This study aims to reveal the entrepreneurial potential of special needs individuals. The research group of this study consisted of participants with a total of 240 special needs in 2015. The participants were held with a total of 120 volunteers, including 60 women and 60 men, who have a physical, visual and hearing need to do sports in different cities, different clubs and associations in Turkey. A total of 120 volunteers, including 60 women and 60 men with visual and hearing needs, were used as the control group. In the study, a relative scan model was used in the imaginary nature and the survey technique was applied as a data collection tool. The data was obtained by face-to-face examinations by researchers. The participating individuals were applied a demographic survey developed by the researcher and a Kauffman FastTrac Entrepreneurship Character Survey consisting of 17 questions. In this study, among physical, visual and hearing disabilities individuals with an age range of 18-45 and a total of 240 people participated, all obstacles could be entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs category combined with 93% of potential entrepreneurs. The level of entrepreneurship of insecurity individuals within the disability groups has risen higher than the other disability situations. As the income status rises, the level of entrepreneurship is higher and they are willing to start their own business. According to the results of our study, individuals with special needs have a high degree of entrepreneurial characteristics. This potential was found to have a positive impact on education, economic conditions and sports habits. However, it is believed that they do not have sufficient support and no idea of how they can behave entrepreneurially.
