Abstract:

This study focuses on the reading texts included in the "Istanbul Turkish Set for Foreigners"; types, originality/specific conditions and cultural objects. The dimensions, "Istanbul Turkish Set for Foreigners" B1, B2, C1+ level curricula based on the document review technique has been studied. In the process of data collection, in the first stage, the reading texts in the "Istanbul Turkish Set for Foreigners" (B1, B2, C1+) were identified, the texts were classified according to the types. The originality/specific status of the texts is determined and divided into categories under the "original text", "specific text" titles. In the final stage, the "Istanbul Turkish Set for Foreigners" (B1, B2, C1+) readings text has been tried to determine the levels of cultural objects. According to the results obtained from the research, it has been found that the reading texts in the Turkish curriculum books prepared for foreigners mostly contain informative and special texts, and their cultural objects do not contain enough. On the other hand, the distribution of text types to the levels B1, B2, C1+ has been unproportionate, the information types are most listed in the article while the narrative types are very little listed, and the poetic types are not listed.
