Ortaokul 8. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Fen ve Teknoloji Dersi Sınıf İçi Etkinliklere Katılımının Derse Karşı Motivasyon ve Tutumlarına Etkisi

Abstract:

Araştırmanın amacı, Ortaokul 8. sınıf fen ve teknoloji dersi sınıf içi etkinliklere katılımın öğrencilerin derse karşı tutum ve motivasyonuna etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Ankara ili merkez ilçelerinden (Sincan, Bala, Ayaş, Yenimahalle) seçkisiz örnekleme yoluyla seçilen okullarda 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılında öğrenim gören üç yüz elli iki 8. sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, Sarıtepeci (2012) tarafından geliştirilen “Katılım Ölçeği” ile “Tutum ve Motivasyon Ölçeği” ve Erişti (1998) tarafından geliştirilen “Öğretme Öğrenme Sürecine Katılım Davranışı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre derse daha fazla katıldığını, öğrencilerin “aktif ve yardımlaşarak öğrenme” düzeyleri ile akademik başarıları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunduğunu ve öğrencilerin sınıf içi etkinliklere katılımları ile derse karşı tutumları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğunu göstermiştir.

Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to study the impact of participation in classroom events in the 8th classroom science and technology course on the attitude and motivation of students to the classroom. In the study, the method was used. The sample of the study is formed by three hundred and fifty-two-eight-class students from the central districts of Ankara (Sincan, Bala, Ayaş, Yenimahalle) in schools selected through unselected sample in the 2013-2014 educational year. The study used the "Participation Scale" developed by Sarıtepeci (2012) and the "Tutum and Motivation Scale" developed by Sarıtepeci (1998) and the "Participation Behavior Scale in the Teaching Learning Process" developed by Sarıtepeci. The results showed that girls participate more in the class than boys, that there is a meaningful relationship between the students' levels of "active and helpful learning" and their academic achievements, and that there is a meaningful relationship between the students' participation in classroom events and their attitudes against the classroom.

This research investigates the effect of secondary school 8th grade science and technology course students' participation in classroom tasks  on their motivation and attitude towards the lesson. Descriptive method was used in this research. The sample of the research, chosen by the random sampling method, is comprised of 352 students who attended schools in the 2013-2014 academic year in the metropolitan townships (Sincan, Bala, Ayaş, Yenimahalle) of the city of Ankara. "Participation Scale" and "Attitude and Motivation Scale", developed by Sarıtepeci (2012), and "Paricipation on the Process of Teaching and Learning Scale", developed by Erişti (1998) were used. The results show that the girls have more participation in lessons than the boys do, that there is a significant relationship between level of students' "active and cooperatively learning" and their academic success, and that there is a significant relationship between students' participation of classroom tasks and students' attitudes towards the lesson.
