Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the achievements of the 9th Class Geography Course Teaching Program (2018) based on the cognitive field stages of the renewed Bloom taxonomy. Since the 9th class is the class level that students first encounter with the geography course, the analysis of the achievements of this class is of importance. The research has used the visual analysis model and document analysis technique from the quality research methods. It is determined in which group the expressions of earnings are included in terms of the information and the dimension of the cognitive process. In order to facilitate the clarity of the results obtained, the units of the results are calculated on the basis of frequencies and percentages, the results are supported by graphics. The findings found that the achievements were not distributed equally to the information dimensions expressed in Bloom’s renewed field taxonomy. When achievements are studied according to the stages that make up the dimensions of the cognitive process, it is found that much of them are in the understanding stages. Some achievements are in the stage of application, analysis and evaluation, while in the stage of creation there is no achievement. As a result, achievements have not been sufficient in terms of higher levels of cognitive processes and have not been distributed regularly according to dimensions. According to the findings, a number of recommendations have been made specifically for the program, researchers and the authors of the curriculum.
