Abstract:

Individuals react to the changes that occur around them depending on their perceptions of the event. The person will show a positive attitude towards a situation he perceives positively, while against a situation he perceives negatively, he will show negative reactions. The behavior of the society toward tourism is also in this direction. As in different parts of the world, rural tourism has a developmental impact for Turkey. Due to this characteristic, a participating management understanding by the local people is shown to ensure the progress of rural tourism. People’s support for rural tourism can be possible by providing them with their belief that rural tourism is a good thing. Because, according to the theory of social change, if the local people think they will benefit from rural tourism, they will be more supporting the development of tourism. According to this understanding, the purpose of the study is to determine the perception differences within the scale of the visual impact of rural tourism on the site, the individual impact on the local population, the adoption of tourists and the general impact of tourism on the local development, according to the positive and negative perspective of the Daday local population. According to the results of the analysis, it can be said that the local people believe that rural tourism has a positive impact on the site and therefore they are more supporting rural tourism.
