Kentsel yaşam kalitesinin artırılması öncelikli olarak yerel yönetimlerin sorumluğundadır ve literatürde kentsel yaşam kalitesine ilişkin başlıklar güvenlikten sağlığa, fiziksel çevrenin iyileştirilmesinden kişisel gelişimin sağlanmasına kadar uzayan geniş bir yelpazede ele alınmaktadır. Kentsel yaşam kalitesinin artırılmasında kentli için sağlıklı planlama yerel yönetimlerin birincil görevleri arasındadır. Kentlerde hemen her şey yerel yönetimlerin tasarrufları ile şekillenmektedir. Dolayısıyla, yerel yönetimlerin kentsel alanlara yönelik tasarrufları tutarlı olduğunda kentler yaşanabilir bir mekana dönüşmekte tutarsız olması halinde ise çeşitli sorunlarla boğuşan yaşam alanlarına dönüşmektedirler. Konu başka bir açıdan değerlendirildiğinde kentler ve kentlerde yer alan toplumsal mekânlar sosyalliğin oluştuğu, insanların toplumla ve diğer insanlarla ilişki kurduğu, ortak kültür ve kimliğin biçimlendiği alanlar olarak da tanımlandığından bu mekânlardaki yetersizlikler ve planlama hataları sosyalleşme sorunlarına da yol açabilmektedir. Kentleşmenin sağlıksız yapılaştığı yerlerdeki suç oranlarının yüksekliği bu değerlendirmeleri doğrulamaktadır. Çalışmada literatür taraması, gözlem ve betimleme yöntemleri ile kentsel yaşam kalitesinin artırılması bağlamında yerel yönetimlerin yaklaşımları değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada öncelikli olarak yerel yönetimler ve bunların çeşitli uygulamaları merkeze alınarak yaşanabilir kent mekânları için güvenliğin sağlanmasından, fiziksel çevrenin iyileştirilmesine kadar uzayan görev dağılımında yapılan uygulamalar incelenmiştir.
The improvement of urban quality of life is primarily the responsibility of local governments, and in literature the topics on urban quality of life are addressed in a wide range ranging from safety to health, from the improvement of the physical environment to personal development. Healthy planning for urban people is one of the primary tasks of local governments in improving urban quality of life. In towns almost everything is shaped by the savings of local governments. Therefore, when local governments are consistent in savings towards urban areas, the cities are in consistency in becoming a living place, and they are transformed into living areas facing a variety of problems. When the subject is evaluated from another point of view, the social spaces located in cities and cities are also defined as areas where socialism is formed, where people relate to society and other people, where common culture and identity are formed, and the deficiencies and errors of planning in these spaces can also lead to socialization problems. The high rate of crime in places where the urbanization is unhealthy is confirmed by these assessments. The study assessed the approaches of local governments in the context of literature scan, observation and imaging methods and improving the quality of urban life. The study primarily examined local governments and their various practices, focusing on the practices in the distribution of tasks ranging from ensuring safety for residential urban areas to improving the physical environment.

Considering another aspect of the subject; social spaces are defined as areas where sociality is formed, people are connected with societyan do there people, and common culture and identity are shaped. Inadequacie sand plannin gerrors in these places can lead to socialization problems. The high rates of crime in unhealthy urban areas confirm these evaluations. In this study, the approaches of local governments were evaluated in the context of increasing the quality of urban life through literature review, observation and description methods. In the study, firstly, local administrations and their various applications were taken to the center, and the applications made in the distribution of tasks ranging from providing security to livable urban spaces and extendingth ephysical environment were examined.
