Abstract:

Ghazzali is an important thinker who has a great influence on the scientific circles and his opinions are always considered and cited after the period following his death. Ghazzali is also a methodologist who regarded the understanding and interpretation of the Qur'an as a serious problem and seriously dealt with this subject. According to Ghazzali, in order to achieve a successful tafsir (exeges), a mufassir commentator must carefully understand the sciences of Qur'an Arabic language, the customs of the Arabs, the deeds and applications of hakims (wise person), the words of  Muslim mystics, and evaluate the verses of the Qur'an regarding mentioned  elements.In his work, Jawahir al-Qur’an, He presented the main objectives of the Qur'an and the principles of how the Quranic and Prophetic nass (the verses and hadiths) should be analyzed and interpreted. The main reason of his different approach is his being a mistic scholar. Because he considered the Qur'an by aproaching mystical framework and evaluated it his regard. As far as we can study, it is first time, Gazzâlî who regarded the Qur'an as a whole approach and evaluated from the methodology of isharî tafsir point of view and classified the verses of the Qur'an according to their subject and the value of their meanings and as a whole from the point of Sufism.
