Abstract:

Turkish teachers should be able to be a model in terms of the correct and effective use and communication of Turkish, because Turkish teachers are responsible for training students who can effectively use their voice and body language. Usually, the speech concerns of each teacher, specifically the Turkish teachers and the teacher candidates, should be on an acceptable level. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of prepared speeches in addressing the speech concerns of the Turkish teacher candidates. In the study, a single group of experimental patterns used the predest-sontest patterns. The research was attended by 41 teachers who studied in the Department of Turkish Teaching at the University of Bartın Education. The prepared speech work was carried out in the framework of the recommended activities in the Turkish Teaching Program. Thus, it is aimed at both developing the teacher candidates' speech skills and internalizing the activities they will do in the workplace. The research data was collected with a speech anxiety scale towards the teachers candidates. At the end of the study, the teacher candidates' speech concerns were at the middle level in the pre-test, at the low level in the estest; preparing positions created a significant difference in addressing the speech concerns of the teacher candidates.
