Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between the intellectual fields of university students and their academic achievements in accounting courses. For this purpose, a quantitative research was carried out on the students of the Department of Business, where accounting courses were most intensely studied. In the study, a survey study was prepared using Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Inventory, which was tailored to Turkish by Oral (2001) to determine students' intelligence fields. The survey was conducted in the 2018-2019 Education-Teaching year with 165 people who are the last class students of the University of Çanakkale Eighteen March, the Biga Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Department of Business. The research finds that there is no statistically meaningful relationship between the fields of intelligence and academic success in accounting courses. A significant statistical difference has been identified between the multi-intelligence fields depending on the gender of students. According to this, the use of visual-spatial intelligence by girls has been higher than the use of visual-spatial intelligence by boys.
