Abstract:

The objective of this research is to develop a tested academic success test that can be used as a measurement and evaluation tool for the "Man and the Environment" unit in the 5th-class science course and to present all the stages in detail. The expert opinion for the 40 questions question pool created by preparing a signature table for eight achievements of the relevant unit was requested. Examples were used when the research sample was created. As the measurement is based on the measurement of learning of the unit in the past years, the examples of the study are high school students of 6th, 7th and 8th classes. For the data obtained from the study, the test's average substance difficulty, substance differentiability and substance- total correlation are calculated with the KR-20 reliability ratio. The analysis of the material found that the test consisted of 27 substances. The average substance difficulty for the test's final state is 0.62; the average substance differentiability is 0.47; the KR-20 reliability ratio is 0.82. It is believed that the developed test will be useful for teachers to determine the levels of students’ achievement in the unit.
