Abstract:

Iran and Saudi Arabia today are undoubtedly the two most important players in the Middle East. The radical change in the understanding of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was founded as a result of the 1979 revolution in Iran, and as a result, relations with Saudi Arabia have come to a breakthrough point. In the subsequent process, developments such as revolutionary exports and Shiite rebellions, Hac events, Iran-Irak war, Nimr al-Nimr execution, Shiite hillali, Arab Spring have caused crises between the two countries. In recent history, after the Yemen Civil War, the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia have become a fair war over this country, and the hegemonic power struggle between the two countries over the Middle East has become visible. In this study we will first refer to the foreign policy concepts to understand the regional competition of Iran and Saudi Arabia, and then historically, we will try to concretize the situation by referring to the reasons that form the origins of the current hostility of the two countries.
