Abstract:

The aim of this study is to compare the performance and general status of enterprises that are members and are not members of the Isparta Damsy Farmers Association (IDSYB) and to evaluate the relationship of farmers with IDSYB in general. For this purpose, the research was carried out by applying the survey by face-to-face meeting with the owners of 200 who are members of the Association of Damızlık Beef Farmers selected by chance in the Isparta provinces and districts (Yalvaç, Sarkikaraağaç and Keçiborlu). The business is designed to results close to the general state of the province by choosing from the districts where the center and livestock are intensively performed. Questions in the survey included topics that revealed the socio-economic status of business owners, their educational levels, their current number of animals, their business structures and performance conditions, their expectations from IDSYB and their relations with IDSYB. As a result, 100% of non-member and non-member have an average monthly income higher than non-member. In 32.85% of, 2-15 heads, in 39.44% 16-30 heads and in 27.71% 31 heads and above livestock were identified. IDSYB member companies have an average of 19 heads of cattle, while non-member companies have an average of 7.7 heads of cattle. There was no significant difference between daily dairy productions per cow in companies that are members of IDSYB and not. Although the findings are not statistically important, it has been shown that the average milk output of the member companies is higher in practice. The number of seeds per animal in enterprises that are members of IDSYB is lower than in non-member enterprises. This has reduced the economic expenses of the company and increased the yield. The elements that encourage farmers who are members of IDSYB to be members of the association can be classified as more benefit from government support and increasing economic income. 81% of members of the association. 95 said they were satisfied with their employees and their work, and IDSYB was the most satisfying topic for the operators that regularly followed the work in the enterprises.
