Abstract:

This study aims to determine the orientation of the articles and theses that on chemistry textbooks approved by the Ministry of National Education in their research through descriptive content analysis. In the research, 73 studies in total published between 2003 and 2021 were analysed in terms of descriptive content through document analysis as qualitative research. In the research, the data were collected with the "coding form" created by the researcher. Findings were shown in graphics and tables as frequency and evaluated in detail. Considering the values with the highest frequency values of the research results; It has been determined that the studies on chemistry textbooks in Turkey were mostly produced in 2003, 2010 and 2011, they were studied with students at the 9th grade level, and the studies that did not specify the sample group were the majority. In addition, a single book was chosen as the sample and the number of people was not specified in the studies, the most tests were used as a data collection tool, most of the articles were mostly indexed in Ulakbim/TR Index, the most theses were produced in Balıkesir University, and most of theses were in the Institution of Educational Sciences written has been determined. Considering that the results of the research will guide the researchers who will conduct new studies in this context, some suggestions were made in line with the findings obtained.
