Bilimsel ve teknolojik anlamda yaşanan hızlı gelişmeler, sosyal yaşamda büyük değişimlere neden olmakta ve bireylerin bu sürece uyumunu gerçekleştirme noktasında eğitime büyük görev düşmektedir. Daha nitelikli, gelişim ve değişimlere çabuk ayak uydurabilen bireyler yetiştirmede akademik anlamda yüksek eğitim almış bireylere gereksinim duyulmaktadır. Özellikle bu anlamda günümüzde lisansüstü eğitim büyük önem kazanmakta ve giderek yaygınlaşmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, farklı üniversitelerin eğitim fakültelerinde öğrenim gören sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının lisansüstü öğretime ilişkin görüşlerine ilişkin bir değerlendirme yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Bartın, Bülent Ecevit ve Siirt üniversitelerinin eğitim fakültelerinde öğrenim gören toplam 442 sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayı ile gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada, katılımcıların lisansüstü öğretime ilişkin bir bilgi sahibi oldukları söylenebilir. Aynı zamanda bu sürecin kendileri açısından fayda sağlayacağı, bireysel ve mesleki anlamda kendilerini gerçekleştirmelerine yardımcı olacağı noktasında görüşler belirtilmiştir. Bunun yanında katılımcılar bu sürecin olumsuz tarafları hakkında da görüş bildirmişlerdir.
The rapid developments in science and technology lead to significant changes in social life and at this point, education has a significant role in ensuring the adaptation of the individuals to this rapid developments. People with good educational background are necessary in educating highly-skilled individuals who can easily adapt to changes and developments. Thus, particularly, graduate education becomes more important and more widespread today. This study aims to evaluate the opinions of pre-service social studies teachers studying at faculty of education of different universities on graduate education. The study, which was carried out with 442 pre-service teachers studying at the faculty of education of Bartın, Bülent Ecevit and Siirt Universities, revealed that participants have a certain level of awareness regarding graduate education. In addition, the opinions were reportedby the participants that the process of graduate education would contribute to them in realizing themselves both professionally and individually. Furthermore, they also reported an opinion about the disadvantages of this process
