Okul öncesi dönem yeteneklerin gelişiminde kritik bir dönemdir. Özellikle okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin algı ve tutumları özel yetenekli çocukların fark edilmesi ve eğitiminde önemli rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışma okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin özel yetenekli çocuklara yönelik algılarını saptamak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama modeli kullanılarak hazırlanan araştırmanın evreni 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Samsun’da görev yapmakta olan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinden oluşmuştur. Araştırmanın örneklemini özel ve resmi anaokullarında görev yapan 50 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veriler "üstün yetenekli öğrencilere yönelik algı ölçeği" vasıtasıyla elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada veriler basılı olarak ve elektronik ortamda Google docs altyapısı kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiş ve normal dağılım göstermemesi nedeniyle noneparametrik testlerden, Mann Whiney U ve Kruskal Wallis H testleri, frekans ve yüzde hesaplamalarıyla analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan testler ve alt problemler doğrultusunda okul öncesi öğretmenlerin özel yeteneklilere ilişkin farkındalık algılarının “katılıyorum” ( =3.76) düzeyinde olduğu bulunmuştur. Cinsiyet, yaş değişkenleri ile özel yeteneklilik algıları arasında öğretmenlerin farkındalık algılarının anlamlı farklılık göstermediği ancak ailelerinde özel yetenekli çocuk olan öğretmenlerin farkındalık algılarının diğer öğretmenlere göre daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür.
Pre-school period is a critical period in the development of skills. In particular, the perceptions and attitudes of pre-school teachers play an important role in the recognition and education of special skilled children. This study was prepared to determine the perceptions of pre-school teachers towards special skilled children. The universe of research prepared using the image scan model of Nicel research methods consisted of pre-school teachers who are working in Samsun in the 2017-2018 educational year. The examples of the study were made by 50 pre-school teachers who work in private and official kindergartens. In the study, the data was obtained through the "perception scale for highly skilled students". The data was obtained in print and electronic media using the Google Docs infrastructure. The obtained data was analyzed through the SPSS program and from non-parametric tests due to the lack of normal distribution, Mann Whiney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were analyzed with frequency and percentage calculations. According to the tests and subproblems carried out, pre-school teachers’ awareness of special abilities is at the level of “I agree” (=3.76) . There is no significant difference in teachers’ perceptions of awareness between gender, age variables and special abilities, but teachers with special abilities in their families have higher perceptions of awareness than other teachers.
