Abstract:

The role of leaders in business success is known. Since leadership has been addressed from different points of view in recent years, many leadership approaches have been discussed. Paternalist (babacan) is one of these in the leadership. Organizational sinism represents employees’ negative behavior against their for various reasons. This study was considered important because the paternalist leadership behavior was thought to reduce the organizational sinism. The purpose of the study is to determine whether paternalist leadership has an impact on organizational sinism and its subdimensions. For this purpose, data were collected by survey technique from 454 people working in public institutions in the province of Kırşehir. The results of the analyses found a negative and meaningful relationship between paternalist leadership and both cynism, both cognitive and sensual cynism, and behavioral cynism. Again, from the subdimensions of paternalist leadership, helpful and moral leadership and sinism, cognitive and sensual sinism, behavioral sinism have been identified negative meaningful relationships. As paternalist leadership increases, the organizational sinism levels decrease. . the behavior of human/ethical leadership has been found to have a negative impact on cognitive/emotional sinism. the behavior of human/ethical leadership has been found to have a negative impact on behavior sinism, but the authoritarian leadership behavior has a positive impact on behavior sinism.
