Antisemitizm ve İslamofobi Avrupa toplumunda kökleri Ortaçağ’ın başlangıcına kadar giden bir geçmişe sahip ırkçılık ve ötekileştirme çeşitleridir. Bu çalışmada bu iki farklı ırkçılık ve ötekileştirme çeşidi arasındaki benzerliklerin ve farklılıkların Aydınlanma Çağından günümüze kadar geçen süreç içerisinde analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda her iki kavramında Avrupa toplumunda tarihsel süreç içerisinde dayandırıldıkları söylemlerin nedenleri, toplumsal uygulama yöntemleri ve sonuçları üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda Avrupa toplumunda 19’uncu Yüzyıldan 20’inci Yüzyılın ilk yarısına kadar varlığı sürdüren Antisemitizm ile 21’inci Yüzyılda hızla yayılan İslamofobi arasında bazı farklılıklar olsa da gerek nedensel faktörler gerekse söylem üretimi açısından ciddi bir benzerlik olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Her iki kavramının benzer noktalarının tarihsel olarak dini kökenlere sahip olmaları, Oryantalizm’in olumsuz söylem üretiminin sonucu olmaları, sekülerizme tehdit oluşturmakla suçlanmaları, toplumsal kriz anlarında ve kitlesel göç hareketlerinde artış göstermeleri olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bahse konu kavramlar arasındaki farklılıkların da farklı ırkçılık çeşitlerine dayanmaları ve farklı siyasi sonuçları ortaya çıkarmaları olduğu görülmüştür.
Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in the European society are roots of racism and authentication with a history that goes to the beginning of the Middle Ages. This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences between these two different varieties of racism and authoritization in the process from the Age of Enlightenment to today. In this context, both concepts are focused on the reasons, methods and consequences of the statements that they have found in the historical process in the European society. The study found that there were some differences between anti-Semitism, which continued to exist in the European society from the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century, and Islamophobia, which spread rapidly in the 21st century, although there were serious similarities in terms of speech production, if causal factors were needed. It has been found that the similar points of both concepts have historically religious origins, that they are the result of negative speech production of Orientalism, that they are accused of creating a threat to secularism, that they are increasing in moments of social crisis and in mass migration movements. The differences between the subject concepts have also been shown to be based on different varieties of racism and to reveal different political consequences.
