Abstract:

This study has studied the impact of the structured measurement and evaluation course according to Dale's Life Theme on the academic success of teachers candidates. In the research, the experimental research patterns used the Öntest-Sontest Control Group Model. The research work group consists of the 3rd-class students who study in the Social Information (Special Group) and Primary Mathematics Teaching (Number Group) programs of the Faculty of Education of the University of Fırat in the 2017-2018 educational year. In the research, the data collection tool has been used by three types of data collection tools, including the success test, rubric and final exam at the end of the period. Different results were obtained with the different data collection tools used in the research results. According to the success test, the experimental process did not make a significant difference. Nevertheless, when compared the points for the rubrics, it was found that there was a significant difference in both verbal and numerical groups in favour of the experimental group. In comparison with the final test scores, only the verbal group found a significant success difference in favor of the experiment group. The result of the study is that there is no significant difference in the success and final test score average, but it is remarkable that there is a significant difference between the score average according to rubrics. These findings may result in success and failure in measuring the performance of the final test. Therefore, measurement and evaluation methods are recommended for measurement and evaluation methods that can also measure performance, in addition to the pen and paper examinations.
