Abstract:

Bu araştırma, ortaöğretim kurumlarında yürütülmekte olan müzik derslerinin işlevsellik durumunu, bu kurumlarda görev yapmakta olan müzik öğretmenlerinin müzik derslerinin işleyişine ilişkin görüşlerine dayanarak ortaya koymayı ve dersin hedeflerine ulaşması yönünde karşılaşılan sorunların çözümüne yönelik öneriler getirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma için nitel araştırma deseni seçilmiştir. Araştırma verileri Samsun’un merkez ilçeleri olan Atakum, İlkadım ve Canik ilçelerinde bulunan yirmiki genel lise ve anadolu lisesi içerisinden rastlantısal olarak seçilen onbir müzik öğretmeni ile gerçekleştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yoluyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmada içerik analizi türlerinden ‘kategorisel analiz’ kullanılmıştır. Görüşme sorularının analizinde “Fiziksel Donanım”, “Öğretim Programı”, “Müzik Dersine Yönelik Yaklaşımlar”, “Yönlendirme” ve “Müzik Dersinin Etkililiği” temalarına ve ilgili kodlara ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, liselerdeki müzik derslerinin etkili şekilde işlenmesini ve dersin hedeflerine ulaşmasını engelleyen birçok etken olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Müzik öğretmenleri, haftalık müzik ders saatinin azlığı, müzik dersi için gerekli fiziksel donanım, ortaöğretim müzik öğretim programının uygulanabilirliği, veli, okul idarecisi, diğer dal öğretmenleri ve öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumları, seçmeli dersler yönetmeliği ve müzik derslerinin genel eğitim sistemi içindeki durumu konularında karşılaştıkları sorunlarla ilgili görüşlerini belirtmiştir. Araştırmanın sonunda öğrencilerin müzik derslerine olan ilgilerinin artırılması ve istendik müziksel davranışların kazandırılması için okullara gereken derslik ve müziksel gereçlerin sağlanması, ortaöğretim müzik öğretim programının kuramsal açıdan sadeleştirilmesi ve uygulamaya yönelik müziksel etkinlikler ile zenginleştirilmesi gerektiği gibi çeşitli çözüm önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.

Teacher's View Of The Work Of The Music Class

This research aims to reveal the functionality of the music courses that are being carried out in the secondary education institutions, based on the opinions of the music teachers in these institutions about the functioning of the music courses and bring suggestions for the solution of the problems encountered in the direction of achieving the objectives of the course. The quality research scheme for research was selected. The research data was collected through semi-configured conversations conducted with eleven music teachers randomly selected from the twenty general high school and anadolu high school located in the central districts of Samsun, Atakum, Primadim and Canik. In the study, the type of content analysis was used as a ‘category analysis’. In the analysis of the interview questions, the topics "Fysical Equipment", "Teaching Program", "Music Course Approaches", "Guidance" and "The Effectiveness of the Music Course" were reached and related codes. Research results have shown that there are many factors that prevent high school music courses from being effectively processed and achieving the course’s goals. Music teachers have expressed their views on the lack of weekly music lesson hours, the necessary physical equipment for music lessons, the applicability of the secondary school music teaching program, the tutor, school administrator, other branch teachers and students' attitudes towards music lessons, the regulation of selectively courses and the problems they encounter in the situation of music lessons within the general education system. At the end of the study, a variety of solutions were proposed, such as increasing the interest of students in music courses and providing the lesson and musical tools needed to provide the schools with the desired musical behavior, theoretically simplifying the middle school music teaching program and enriching it with musical activities aimed at the application.

This research aims at demonstrating the functionality of music courses in secondary education schools based on teachers working in those institutions and at giving recommendations for the solution of problems encountered in attaining the course objectives. It uses a qualitative research design. The research data were collected through semi-structured interviews with randomly chosen eleven music teachers working in the high schools and Anatolian High schools located in Atakum, Ilkadım and Canik districts of Samsun. Categorical analysis, a type of content analysis, was utilized for data analysis in the research. The themes of “physical equipment”, curriculum” approaches to the music course”, “orientation” and “the effectiveness of the music course” as well as the relevant codes were reached in the analyses of the interview questions. The research findings revealed that several factors existed hindering the teaching of music courses effectively and attaining the course objectives at high schools. The music teachers stated their views on such issues as the inadequacy of weekly course hours, the physical equipment necessary for the music course, the applicability of the music curriculum, attitudes of parents, school administrators and other branch teachers towards the course, elective courses regulation, and the state of music in the general system of education. In consequence, recommendations were made on the issues of providing the schools with classrooms and musical materials necessary for instilling in students the desired musical behaviours for raising students’ interest in music courses, simplifying the secondary education music curriculum theoretically, and enriching it with application directed musical activities.
