Abstract:

Verb bol- is a productive verb which has been used since Old Turkish period. It has a quite wide usage area in New Uyghur Language. Just like the other productive verbs in New Uyghur Language, personal affixes are conjugated by means of taking form and time affixes. It functions in the sentence not only as actual verb but also as auxiliary verb. It takes part in the structure of the combined verbs (bol- + depicting verb) as an essential verb. In addition to making the words with name origin predicate by means of taking auxiliary verb (name+ bol-), it makes them depicting verb (verb + bol-). It is used as verbal noun, verbal adjective, verbal adverb, conjunction, exclamation. Using it instead of i- affix verb/core verb is another characteristic of the verb bol-. We, in this study, will try to explain the functions of the verb bol- by means of the examples
