Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of classmates on the course of Games and Physical Activities (OFE). The research group consists of 10 class teachers working in a school in the province of Trabzon. In the study, a semi-configured conversation form was used as a data collection tool. In the analysis of the data, the visual analysis method was used. The study concluded that the school infrastructure for the OFE lessons was insufficient and limited; the number of weekly lessons was sufficient in class 1, 2 and 3 and insufficient in class 4. It is also found that teachers do different lessons in the OFE class while they do not find the use of the OFE class for other lessons appropriate. Although teachers think that the course develops physical skills in students and contributes to the learning of the concepts of solidarity and cooperation, it turned out that they do not know exactly the course’s development and learning fields specified in the curriculum and the outcome of the program. The teachers said they were included in the OFE lesson for a short time in the game teaching stage. The most remarkable conclusion of the study is that classmates consider themselves insufficient in the OFE classroom and that, in addition, because the body education teachers are more informed and aware of the course, the executive of the OFE classroom should be the body education teacher.
