Çalışmanın amacı, 5. sınıf Fen Bilimleri dersi Yaşamımızdaki Elektrik ünitesinin, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından kurulan Eğitim Bilişim Ağı sosyal eğitim platform içerikli animasyonların ve Colorado Üniversitesi tarafından geliştirilen PhET simülasyon programı kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik başarısı üzerine etkisini incelemek ve uygulama ile ilgili öğrenci görüşlerini almaktır. Çalışma, 22 deney ve 20 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 42 ortaokul 5. sınıf öğrenci ile Osmaniye ilinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada ön-test son-test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca çalışma sonucunda animasyon ve simülasyon hakkında deney grubunda bulunan öğrencilerin görüşü alınmıştır. Verilerin analizinde bağımsız t testi ve betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, animasyon ve simülasyona dayalı Fen öğretiminin, öğrencilerin Fen Bilimlerine ilişkin akademik başarıları ve öğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcılık düzeylerini arttırdığını göstermiştir. Çalışmanın betimsel analiz kısmında ise öğrencilerin uygulama ile ilgili düşüncelerinin genel olarak olumlu olduğu görülmektedir.
The aim of the study is to study the impact of the 5th-class Science course on the academic success of the students and to obtain the student views on the application of the Electric Unit in Our Life, the Education Information Network social education platform content and the use of the PhET simulation program developed by the University of Colorado. The study was conducted in Osmaniye province with a total of 42 high school 5th class students, including 22 experiments and 20 control groups. The study used a semi-experimental pattern with a pre-test-son-test control group. The study also took the views of students in the experimental group on animation and simulation. In the analysis of the data, independent t test and visual analysis were used. The findings obtained in the study have shown that the science teaching based on animation and simulation increased the academic achievements of students in science and the levels of durability of the learned information. In the visual analysis of the study, the students’ opinions about the application are generally positive.
