Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to study the research literature on the relationship between parents’ interest in education and children’s academic success. The researchers argue that parent-parent interest affects the academic performance of both childhood, primary, secondary and high school students. Parental interest is defined in terms of the process or discipline of socializing and educating children at home, the desires and expectations of parents for their children’s education and academic success, communication at school, discussions about school and participation in school activities. Parents discuss school activities with their children in order to ensure their children’s better academic performance, monitor, control and assist their home tasks, communicate with teachers, participate in school tasks, events and parents-learers meetings. They expect and want their children to have more educational gains and higher academic success. These educational expectations and desires of parents are positively linked to their children’s academic success.
