Doğu Anadolu coğrafyası kısıtlı tarım alanlarına ve zorlu bir topografyaya sahiptir. Bu zorlu bölge tarih öncesi ve tarihi dönemler boyunca bölge halkının ekonomik geçimini hayvancılık üzerinden sağlamasında en önemli etken olmuştur. Aynı zamanda sert bir iklime sahip olan bölgede gerçekleştirilen tarım da büyük oranda hayvan beslenmesine yöneliktir. Doğu Anadolu hayvancılığının önemli merkezlerinden biri de Bingöl ilidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Doğu Anadolu hayvancılığına dair var olan arkeolojik verilerin ortaya konulması ve bu veriler kullanılarak Bingöl’ün yayla hayvancılığının kökeni ve etkileşimi üzerine gerçekleştirilmesi planlanan bir proje çalışmasının önerisini sunmaktır
