Abstract:

It is not possible to consider and evaluate the ethical climate, organizational trust and organizational justice perception concepts that affect the organizational attitudes and behaviors of the employees independently from each other. From this point of view, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the ethical climate perception of the shipyard employees on organizational trust and to determine whether the perception of organizational justice has a mediator role in this interaction. The research has been carried out in the Yalova-Altınova Shipyards Region with 430 permanent shipyards employees. The structural equation model was used to determine the direct and indirect relationships between the data obtained by the survey technique and the research variables. The findings of the research show that the perception of organizational justice has a mediator variable effect in the relationship between ethical climate and organizational trust. In other words, it has been revealed that ethical climate positively affects organizational trust in shipyard business, but all of this effect occurs through the perception of organizational justice. At the end of the study, it was emphasized that ethical climate in shipyards establishes organizational trust, creating an organizational environment in which all stakeholders are treated equally and fairly, in other words, the establishment of organizational justice.
