Abstract:

The aim of this research is to determine the ability to understand the process-based listening activities of primary school fourth class students listen to, the impact on their listening attitudes and the views of the experiment group students on the activities. Karma research has been used. Quantitative dimensions of the study were used on the basis of pre-test and semi-experimental patterns, and quantitative data were supported by qualitative data. The study group consists of 49 fourth-class students studying in a primary school located in the center of Eskişehir province. The experiment and control group applied the pre- and after-application test and the final test "Test to understand what you hear" and "Speaking-to-hearing attitude scale". A semi-configured interview with students was conducted to determine the opinion of the students of the experimental group at the end of the process. There is a significant difference between the results of the study that students obtained from the final test using the "Test of Understanding" and the "Speaking Attitude Scale" in favour of the experimental group. According to the data obtained from the semi-structured interviews with the experimental group students, the students’ attitudes towards the listening activities based on superintelligence strategies have been determined in a positive direction. According to these findings, it can be said that listening activities based on super-intelligence strategies develop the understanding skills students listen and have a positive impact on their attitudes towards listening.
