Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the gap determiners using the panel data analysis method with annual data from the 2000-2018 period obtained from the official website of the World Bank of 19 selected countries. The analysis includes a fixed impact model, a racial (relative) impact model, GMM and system GMM econometric models. This analysis assessed the gap in customs transactions as a dependent variable, and as an independent variable the indicators of non-profit domestic income per person (GDP), portfolio investments, gross fixed capital formation, gross savings and trade (% GDP). Depending on the results of the estimates obtained in the analysis, the effects of these variables are interpreted on the gap in the carrier processes. According to the findings obtained by the empirical analysis; independent variables that establish a positive and meaningful relationship between the gap of the dependent variable and the carrier processes; GDP per person and gross savings. Independent variables that have been identified a meaningful but negative relationship between the gap of search transactions are the gross fixed capital formation and trade (% GDP). There is also no statistically meaningful relationship between the gap of currency transactions and portfolio investments. In this study, it is shown that the model is statistically meaningful in accordance with expectations.
