Abstract:

The prevalence of Turkish has increased in the Balkans, which began to bear the traces of Turkish civilization in architectural, cultural and literary terms with the 14th century. This geography, which was introduced to the construction and culture of the Ottoman Empire, almost gained an Anatolian identity with the Turks settled from Anatolia. The use of Turkish also increased as of this date, and with the loss of Ottoman sovereignty, it was subjected to various pressures and prohibitions. Academic studies examine the changes in this region. In the research, academic journals carrying out studies on the "Balkans" in Turkey were examined. Magazines with the theme/name of "Balkan" and "Rumelia" in the Dergipark database were scanned; Studies on teaching Turkish as a foreign language and teaching Turkish as a second language were examined. The research was carried out as a case study, one of the qualitative research methods. The thematic distribution of the articles in teaching Turkish as a foreign language was analyzed with classifications such as the country/region status of the study area. The areas in which the studies were concentrated, how frequently they were conducted, and what results they achieved were examined, and then the data were classified and themed. It is evaluated that the study will contribute to the diversity of studies to be carried out in the field of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language in the Balkans and Turkey and to the education and training processes of Turkish in the Balkans.
