İbnü’l-Arabî’nin kelam ilmine bakışı genel anlamda menfidir. İbnü’l-Arabî’de bu bakışı şekillendiren ve belirleyen husus ise insanın hakikatle olan ilişkisidir. Sûfî kimliğiyle öne çıkan İbnü’l-Arabî’nin kelam eleştirisini belirleyen zemin de doğal olarak kendine özgü bir teoriyle beslediği bu tasavvufî zemindir. Ona göre insan hakikat yoluna ancak hâl, keşf ve müşâhede gibi yollarla, Allah tarafından (ledün) kendisine öğretilen bir bilgi aracılığıyla dâhil olabilir. Diğer yandan İbnü’l-Arabî’nin kelam eleştirisinde yaslandığı önemli bir dayanağın da Kur’ân olduğunu görüyoruz. Kur’ân’ın zikrettiği deliller kelamın delillerine ihtiyaç bırakmayacak kadar güçlü, sahih ve sarihtir. Dolayısıyla Kur’ân’a sarılan birinin, sarıldığı sürece kelama ihtiyaç duymasından söz edilemez. Ayrıca kelam İbnü’l-Arabî’ye göre aslında kuşku demektir, sorun demektir. Mütekellimler sürekli itikadî sorunlarla, kuşkularla ilgilenerek ve bunları gündeme getirerek farkında olmadan kendilerini ve başkalarını kuşkuya sevkederler. Buraya sürüklendikten sonra İbnü’l-Arabî’ye göre insanın kendisini kurtarması çok zor olmakla birlikte kendini kurtaran sayısı da oldukça azdır. Bu yüzden İbnü’l-Arabî’ye göre bir şehirde bir kelamcıdan fazlasına lüzum yoktur.

Ibn al-‘Arabi’s Critique of Theology Abstract The view of Ibn al-‘Arabi on Islamic theology is generally negative. The point that shapes and determines this view in Ibn al-‘Arabi is the relationship of man with the truth. The ground that determines the criticism of Islamic theology of Ibn al-‘Arabi, who stands out with his Sufi identity, is naturally this mystical ground, which he feeds with a unique theory. According to him, man can only enter the path of truth through ways such as mystical experience, kashf and mystical seeing, through a knowledge taught to him by Allah (al-ladun). On the other hand, we see that the Qur'an is an important basis on which Ibn al-'Arabi leans in his criticism of the theology. The proofs cited by the Qur'an are so strong, authentic and clear that they do not need the proofs of the theology. Therefore, it cannot be said that a person who clings to the Qur'an needs the theology as long as he clings to it. In addition, the theology actually means doubt, it means problem, according to Ibn al-‘Arabi. Muslim theologians unwittingly make themselves and others doubtful by constantly dealing with and bringing up theological problems and doubts. According to Ibn al-‘Arabi, after being dragged here, it is very difficult for a person to save himself, but the number of people who save himself is very few. Therefore, according to Ibn al-'Arabi, there is no need for more than one theologian in a city. Key Words: Ibn al-‘Arabi, truth, theology, sufism, critique.
