Abstract:

The general purpose of this study is to examine the views of various stakeholders (the officials of the National Education Directorate, school managers, teachers, school psychological consultants, teachers, students, guardians) on the problems and solutions proposed in the process of the COVID-19 pandemic occurring in Turkey. The work is carried out by the method of discussion of the research methods and is designed on the basis of the phenomenological (logubilematical) design. The data under the research was obtained from a total of 137 stakeholders using semi-configured conversation forms. The data obtained from the research was analyzed using the content analysis technique. The study finds that the views of stakeholders on the advantages of distance education are mostly independent of time and place, that the courses can be followed repeatedly, that the need for education in the period of pandemic is satisfying, that the protection against the infection, the importance of technology in education and the development of technological skills. The disadvantages of remote education are mainly related to loss of motivation, lack of measurement and evaluation, lack of resources such as the internet and the computer, creating inequality of opportunities in education, lack of communication and interaction, technical problems, lack of socialization and unprepared for the remote learning process. The solution proposals of stakeholders are mainly in the form of process measurement and evaluation, the creation of equal opportunities, increased participation and interaction in classes, strengthening infrastructure, teaching students with their own teachers and reducing the number of classes.
