Abstract:

The power of the Democratic Party (DP) in the General Parliamentary Elections of May 14, 1950 is an important point in the political history of Turkey. In general, the research concerning this period is discussed in the upper political framework, and in recent years political relations have also begun to be studied in the sense of local elements. Such research is of great importance to assess the impact of the local public on the top political framework. For this period, according to the one-degree electoral system, the need to reach the local public in political parties’ strategies to gain power has increased further. As a key tool for regional activity, the intense use of local media is often seen in the press movements of the period. The aim of this study is: according to the "Karaköse" and "Yayla" newspapers published in Durga; the aim of the 1954 Parliamentary General Elections is to thoroughly examine the developments that occur in the context of the propaganda periods and the election results. Thus, in 1954 the general parliamentary elections were in the pain of which environment and the place of it in the history of democracy were attempted to be identified. In addition to the data obtained from the local press, this article, prepared by the research and research works, is prepared by the document analysis technique as a product of a qualified study.
