Abstract:

This research is identifiable and cutting-edge, and has been done to identify the difficulties that nurses and nurses who take care of migrants / refugees / refugees patients encounter. The universe of the research was formed by 1800 nurses and nurse in 10 health institutions in the province of Istanbul between 10.07.2017-01.10.2017. The sample was made by 322 nurses and mothers who fulfilled the criteria for participation in the research. In the collection of data, a "Created Information Form" consisting of a total of 18 questions was used. The data was analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 22 program using identifying statistical methods. The majority (91%) of nurses in this study, 63% were graduates, 31% were graduates. The employment period is between 5 and 9 years. The survey found that nurses and nurses mostly (90.7%) care for migrants / refugees / refugees from Syria, and that in the health institutions where the survey was carried out there was only one translator in two educational and research hospitals. Nurses and nurses were often confronted with "language disability in communicating with the patient" (81.7%), "unknown medical resume of the patient" (74.2%), "language disability with the patient's relatives" (73.3%) and "intercultural differences" (57.1%). The research found that nurses and nurses mostly cared for individuals from Syria, only two educational and research hospitals had translators, and the difficulties in providing care were often caused by language disorders and cultural differences.
