Uzaktan eğitim, zaman ve mekândan tamamen bağımsız, öğrencinin ve öğretim üyesinin kampüse gelme zorunluluğu olmadan, mevcut bilgisayar teknolojileri vasıtasıyla tamamen sanal ortamda, canlı, görüntülü, sesli ve interaktif olarak derslerin işlendiği; katılımcının istediği zaman bunları tekrar tekrar izleyebileceği/görüntüleyebileceği, kaynak bilgilerine ulaşabileceği bir üniversite eğitiminin verildiği; günümüz şartlarında eğitim ve öğretimin hızla bilgisayar ortamına geçtiği akılcı, çağdaş, yenilikçi bir eğitim sistemidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin uzaktan eğitime ilişkin görüşlerinin bazı değişkenlere (Cinsiyet, Mesleki Kıdem, Uzaktan Eğitim Hakkında Bilgi Sahibi Olma, Uzaktan Eğitim Hizmeti Alma, Bilgisayar, Tablet ve Akıllı Telefon Kullanma Sıklığı) göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Elazığ merkezde çeşitli ortaokullarda görev yapan 60 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup veri toplama aracı olarak S. Yıldırım, G.Yıldırım, Çelik, Karaman (2014) tarafından geliştirilen“ Uzaktan Eğitim Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bulgular SPSS 21.00 programında analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre “Cinsiyet ve Mesleki Kıdem” değişkenlerinde istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılaşmanın olduğu görülmezken, “Uzaktan Eğitim Hakkında Bilgi Sahibi Olma, Uzaktan Eğitim Hizmeti Alma, Bilgisayar-Tablet-Akıllı Telefon Kullanma Sıklığı” değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılaşmanın olduğu görülmektedir.
Remote education is a university education that is fully independent of time and space, without the student and the faculty’s obligation to enter the campus, through the existing computer technologies, the courses are processed in a fully virtual environment, live, visual, audio and interactive; a university education that is provided where the participant can watch/view them again and again when he wants, and where the source information is available; a smart, contemporary, innovative educational system where education and teaching in today’s conditions quickly pass into the computer environment. The aim of this study is to identify whether social information teachers’ views on remote education differ according to certain variables (Gender, Professional, Distance Learning Information, Remote Learning Service, Computer, Tablet and Smartphone Use Frequency). The study group consists of 60 social information teachers working in various high schools in the Elazığ center. The research is in the scanning model and the data collection tool has been developed by S. Yıldırım, G. Yıldırım, Steel, Karaman (2014) using the "Remote Learning Scale". The findings obtained within the framework of the study were analyzed in the SPSS 21.00 program. According to the results of the analysis, there is no statistically meaningful differentiation in the "Gender and Professional Advancement" variables, while there is no statistically meaningful differentiation in the "Remote Learning Information, Remote Learning Service, Computer-Tablet-Smart Phone Use Frequency" variables.
Distance learning is a rational, modern and innovative education system in today’s world where education and instruction are rapidly transformed into computer environment, which is completely independent from time and space, includes a university education where the courses are instructed live, interactive and with video and audio in a completely virtual environment using current computer technologies and does not require the students and faculty members to have access to the campus and where participants could review and display the material over and over again. The objective of the present study is to determine whether the views of social studies teachers on distance education differed based on certain variables (Gender, Professional Seniority, Knowledge about Distance Education, Receiving Distance Learning Services, Computer, Tablet and Smartphone Use Frequency). The study group included 60 social studies teachers working in various middle schools in Elazığ province center. “The Distance Education Scale,” developed by S. Yıldırım, G. Yıldırım, Çelik, and Karaman (2014) was used as the data collection tool in the present study which was designed with the survey model. Findings obtained within the scope of the present study were analyzed in SPSS 21.00 software. Analysis results demonstrated that there were no significant difference based on “gender” and “professional seniority” variables, while significant differences were observed based on “Knowledge about Distance Education, Receiving Distance Learning Services, Computer, Tablet and Smartphone Use Frequency” variables.
