This study has two basic purposes. The firt purpose is to compare perceptions of managers, who are from firms with or without total quality management (TQM) applications, towards human resource management applications in their firms. The second purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the level of managers’ knowledge about TQM and the evaluations of these managers towards human resource management applications. For this purpose, a survey questionnaire is developed and applied in Bursa (DORSAB) to owners/managers of textile firms. Our findings indicate that managers with knowledge about TQM have more positive perceptions towards the functions of human resource management applications. Furthermore, it is observed that managers with more knowledge about TQM are more inclined to postulate more positive evaluations about the importance of human resource management applications than managers with medium and little knowledge of it
