Abstract:

This study is based on the Chinese word and derivatives testified in the ancient Uyghur Turkish texts. In this study, where the examples identified through historical texts are addressed, it is seen that the Chinese word was translated from Chinese to Turkish by two-language priests during the Ancient Uyghur Turkish period and continued to be placed in the language as a bilingual. In Islamic texts, this term, which is in the same frequency of use as in Buddhist texts, has been used by various witnesses, with the changes that have occurred in the historical process and the power of derivation that the Turkish language has. The attempt to turquoise the concepts of Buddhism and Islam, which we see as one of the methods of making terms relating to the religious terminology of Turkish, through the dualities that we see, in the form of "strange elements + Turkish elements" shows that a language policy in the religious terms point. Based on the language policy that exists in this direction, the value expressed by the word has been tried to determine.
