Bu araştırmanın amacı Doğu Anadolu bölgesinde görev yapan fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin Doğu Anadolu genelinde ve fen eğitimi özelinde karşılaştıkları güçlüklerin belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda nitel yöntemlerden fenomenmolojik araştırma deseni tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Muş ilinde ilçe ve köyde görev yapan dokuz öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların görüşlerini belirlemek için uzman görüşleri ile şekillendirilmiş, yedi sorudan oluşan yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşlerin güvenirliğini belirlemek için Miles Hubermann güvenirlik testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda katılımcıların deneyim süresi sekiz yıl ve altında olup, bu öğretmenlerin önemli bir kısmı kırsal bölgelerde yer alan ve/veya dezavantajlı okullarda görev yapmaktadır. Katılımcı fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin genellikle Doğu Anadolu bölgesinde çalışmanın avantajlarından daha çok dezavantajlarını sıraladıkları görülmektedir. Dezavantajlı olarak öğrenme ortamından kaynaklanan güçlükler, öğrencilerden kaynaklanan güçlükler, aileden kaynaklanan güçlükleri ifade etmektedir. Bu sorunların çözümüne yönelik olarak tüm paydaşların desteği ile öğretim ortamlarının güçlendirilmesi önerilmektedir.
The purpose of this research is to identify the difficulties faced by the teachers of science working in the East Anadolu region and in the science education specialty. For this purpose, the phenomological research model was preferred from the quality methods. The researchers are composed of nine teachers working in the district and village. For the determination of the participants’ opinions, a semi-configured interview form, formed with the expert opinions, consisted of seven questions, was used. Miles Hubermann's reliability test was used to determine the reliability of opinions. The study found that the participants have a lifetime of eight years or less and that a significant proportion of these teachers work in rural and/or disadvantaged schools. Participating sciences teachers often rank their disadvantages more than the advantages of studying in the Eastern Anadolu region. Disadvantages are the difficulties arising from the learning environment, the difficulties arising from students, the difficulties arising from the family. To solve these problems, it is recommended to strengthen the teaching environment with the support of all stakeholders.
