Abstract:

Classroom is an active interaction and communication environment where students are prepared for academic and socio-cultural life. The behavior that class teachers, one of the most important actors in this environment, present as a role model, is of great importance in terms of the teachers candidates who come to gain experience in these classes. But it’s hard to say that the teachers’ behavior presented in the classroom always occurs as desired. The aim of this study is to identify what is the unwanted teacher behavior from the perspective of the teacher candidates. The participant of the study performed with the qualification approach is composed of 21 teachers candidates who have received school experience and teaching practice courses. In the study, the data was obtained from focus group conversations conducted with participants through semi-configured conversation forms. The interviews registered with the approval of the participants were transcripted and the documents were processed by content analysis. In the study, findings about the unwanted behavior of classmates were presented under the basic dimensions of class management, communication, teaching and guidance and discussed on the basis of literature.
