There is a close relationship between the attitude towards a profession and the intention to pursue a career in that profession. A study was conducted in Istanbul to determine the effects of high school culinary students' attitudes towards the culinary profession on their career intentions. Data were collected with a questionnaire developed based on the literature. The survey was applied between 05-16.04.2021 via the quota sampling based on gender and class, and 487 students were reached. In the analysis of data, besides the descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis and regression analysis were used. It was determined that the attitudes of the students towards the culinary profession explained their career intentions by 68.5%. It has been also determined that the cognitive (β:0.204), emotional (β:0.284) and behavioral (β:0.408) dimensions of Professional attitude significantly affect career intention. The study ends with the fact that internships have a special importance in the formation of attitudes towards the culinary profession and that workplaces should give special importance to interns.
