Sheikh Muhammad Diyâuddîn Norşînî (d.1342/1924), an important person in of Norşîn dervish lodge, is considered one of the spiritual architects of Bitlis and its surroundings. Sheikh Muhammed Diyâuddîn, who became famous as Sheikh Hazret, played an active role in the social life of the region as well as his activities of science, guidance, and jihad. Mektubat, which is considered a part of the letter tradition, has an important place in Sufism literature. It has also content that can be issue to assessments in the subject of mysticism, fiqh, and kalam. When we look at the issues which that dealt with in the Mektubat, which is seen that the fiqh issues have a significant place. In this work (Mektubat) which his letters were collected, while issues of fiqh such as “loyalty of sunnah, pray, penance, condolence, marriage, talaq, and iddet (waiting period). On the other hand, he also discussed the provisions of some mystical issues such as a disciple's request for a guide. This case demonstrates that Sheikh Mohammed has a fiqh aspect besides his Sufi character. In this study, Muhammad Diyâuddîn’s Mektûbât will be examined and the issues he has dealt with regarding fiqh and his fatwas will be evaluated. In addition, the importance of the work in terms of fiqh will be tried to put forward to deal with the sect within which the views he defended, the sources he preferred for permission or perseverance, and the sources he was benefited from.
