Son yıllarda metaforlar, bir bireyin karmaşık olarak gördüğü bir yapıya ait düşüncelerinin değerlendirilmesi olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu perspektiften bakıldığında öğrencilerin zor olarak tanımladığı matematik ve geometri kavramlarına ilişkin, geleceğin öğretmeni olacak öğretmen adaylarının algılarının metaforlar aracılığıyla incelenmesi sayesinde bu kavramların öğretilmesinin ve öğrenilmesinin önündeki engellerin önüne geçilebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada da “Matematik öğretmeni adaylarının matematik ve geometri kavramına ilişkin öğretme-öğrenme yaklaşımları hangi kategorilerde toplanmaktadır?” sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Bu araştırma, nitel araştırma desenlerinden fenomenoloji/olgu bilim deseni kapsamında yürütülmüştür. Araştırma 52 öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma da veriler açık uçlu anket yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının matematik öğretme ve matematik öğrenmeye ilişkin metaforları incelendiğinde çaba metaforunun her iki alanda da tekrarlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının geometri öğretme ve geometri öğrenmeye ilişkin oluşturdukları metaforlarda deneyim metaforu ortak metafordur. Ayrıca hem öğretme hem de öğrenme için sürecin gerekliliğinde, ayrıntılara dikkat etmek ve farklı bakış açısı kazandırma metaforları dikkat çekmektedir.
In recent years, metaphors have been used as an assessment of the thoughts of a structure that an individual sees complex. From this perspective, it is believed that through the study of the perceptions of the teachers candidates who will be the teacher of the future regarding the concepts of mathematics and geometry that students have difficult to define, the teaching and learning of these concepts can be overcome through the metaphors. In this study, "What categories are the teaching-learning approaches for the mathematics and geometry concepts of mathematics teacher candidates gathered in?" Reply to the question was asked. This research has been carried out within the framework of phenomenology/event scientific designs from quality research patterns. The study was conducted by 52 teachers. The research has also collected data with the help of an open end survey. The study of the metaphors of teaching candidates in mathematics teaching and mathematics learning found that the effort metaphors were repeated in both fields. The experience metaphor in the metaphors that teachers' candidates create regarding geometry teaching and geometry learning is a common metaphor. It also draws attention to the need of the process for both teaching and learning, paying attention to the details and giving different perspectives to the metaphors.
