After creating man, Allah did not leave him unattended, guided him with revelation so that he could find the right path, and for this reason, he assigned some of his servants to convey this revelation. Although it is stated that it was revealed to all the prophets mentioned in the Qur'an, a limited number of prophets were given books, furqan, suhuf, judgment, wisdom, etc. The prophet whose name is mentioned the most in the Qur'an is Moses. In addition to his struggle with the Pharaoh, his struggle with his people, who broke their covenant with Allah, is also mentioned many times. In various verses, it is stated that the Book, Furkan, Suhûf and Tablets were given to Moses. Although different interpretations have been made about each of them, only the subject of Tablets has been discussed in this study. In the wording of the verses, there are no detailed explanations about the nature of the tablets and how they were written. In addition, what is meant by the expression “Tablets” in three verses, what material these tablets are made of, Moses throwing these holy tablets on the ground, whether the tablets were broken, where the tablets were stored, the contents of the tablets, etc. The issues deserve to be explored. The subject of the tablets, which are expressed as stone tablets in the text of the Torah, takes place in a little more detail in the Bible. There is no detail in the Qur’an except that the tablets were given to Moses, that when Moses saw his people worshiping the golden calf, he threw the tablets on the ground and when his anger subsided, he took the tablets. In the Torah, it is stated that Moses took the tablets on Mount Sinai, they consisted of two stone tablets, and the “Ten Commandments” were written on it. When Moses saw that his people were worshiping the golden calf, he broke them, God ordered him to hew two tablets again, and after staying on Mount Sinai for forty days and forty nights, these tablets he hewed include details such as the same orders were dictated to him by God, and Moses kept them in the ark of the covenant. The subject has been handled within the framework of both Islamic and Torah tafsir tradition and the explanations in the Islamic tafsir tradition and the explanations in the Torah tafsir have been compared.
