Bir metni doğru bir şekilde anlayabilmek, sadece o metinde geçen kelimelerin manalarını bilmekle mümkün olmayabilir. Kelime manalarının yanında ayrıca metin içi ve metin dışı bağlama baş vurmak, metni doğru anlamak için gereklidir. Bu durum Kur’ân’ın anlaşılması için de geçerli olup, âyetlerin doğru bir şekilde anlaşılabilmesindeki önemli unsurlardan biridir. Bu manada bağlam, âyetlerin kendi içerisinde sahip olduğu doğru mananın ortaya çıkarılmasına yardımcı olur. Ali b. İsmail el-Aksarâyî, tütün konusunu ele aldığı risâlesinde onun haramlığını dört başlıkta ele almakta ve birincisinde Mâide 33. âyetini delil getirerek tütünün haramlığına hükmetmektedir. Bu çalışma, Aksarâyî’nin risâlesinde kullandığı söz konusu âyetin bağlamına yoğunlaşmakta müellifin bu hususu dikkate alıp almadığını tespit etmeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışmanın giriş kısmında bağlam konusuna kısaca değinildikten sonra Aksarâyî ve risâlesi hakkında, risâlenin metni ve Türkçe çevirisi verilmek suretiyle, bilgi verilmiştir. Daha sonra ise ilgili âyetin bağlamı tespit edilmeye çalışılmış, Aksarâyî’nin ilgili âyeti bağlamından kopardığı tespit edilmiştir.
Understanding a text may not be possible by solely knowing the meanings of the words that composed it. Along with vocabulary, an understanding of the context is also necessary. The same logic applies to understanding the verses of the Qur’an. Context helps the true intention behind the verses reveal itself. Ali b. Ismail al-Aksarāyī examines the prohibition of tobacco under four main headings in his treatise. Under the first one, he uses Māidah 33 as proof and claims that it is indeed forbidden to tobacco. This study by focusing on the context of the said verse and tries to figüre out whether Aksarāyī considered the context of the verse. Hence, at the beginning of the article, brief information about the contextual problems is given. Later on, information on Aksarâyî and his treatise are offered along with the translation of the treatise. Finally, the contextual examination shows that Aksarāyī indeed took that verse out of its context and came to a judgment following his intention.
