Abstract:

Reading consists of letters and phrases that make up a text. Speaking the sentences, giving it meaning and expressing what a written text wants to transmit Voice reading skills, whether the mother tongue or foreign language is of great importance in terms of the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. The ability to read in language teaching also helps to develop other skills. The region where Turkmen people live is Kirkuk. There are Turkmen, Arabs and other elements living in Kirkuk. About 2.5 million people speak Turkmenic in Iraq. The main objective of this research is to identify the voice reading errors that Turkmen teachers who live in Kerkük and study in the Turkish Teaching Department of Kerkük University make when they read a text in Turkish, to identify what errors they make and to try to determine whether there is a significant difference in the voice reading errors between the sexes. The study included a total of 16 volunteer teachers candidates, including 8 women and 8 men. Students who participated in the study read the text "Thank everyone" consisting of 553 words, and the researchers tried to uncodify the data by taking a sound record. Later, the researchers identified voice reading errors. These errors are defined as repeating the word, repeating the hece, adding the hece, adding the word, jumping the hece, jumping the word, failure to extract the sound, expression, failure to control the breath, holding, wrong reading, adding the sound and wrong heating. The results and recommendations of the study are presented in the results section of the study.
