Abstract:

The communication obstacles that teachers have experienced with school stakeholders can also affect the level of work satisfaction. Therefore, the main purpose of the research is to identify the relationship between the perceptions of teachers working in high schools about communication obstacles in the school and the levels of work satisfaction. The universe of research, in the 2017-2018 educational year, consists of a total of 1602 branch teachers who work in the middle schools in the center of the Elazığ and districts. The sample consists of a total of 413 teachers identified by a simple random sample method. In the study, two data collection tools were used.The first of them is the Business Doyum Scale, the second is the Communication Disabilities Scale in Education Management. Some of the findings on work satisfaction of the study include: Teachers' work satisfaction; Management-control, success, reputation and recognition and interpersonal relationships are at a satisfactory level at the low-dimensions, while wages, teaching/work itself, parent-student disinterest and a partially satisfactory level throughout the scale. Teachers' perceptions of communication obstacles in the school, psycho-social obstacles, technical and semantic obstacles and cultural and political obstacles are at the low-dimensional and non-compatible level. As the communication obstacles in the school increase, the teacher’s job satisfaction decreases.
