The purpose of the study was to develop a valid and reliable scale in order to evaluate elementary students’ foreign language learning anxiety. The research was carried out on totally 374 elementary school students studying in Nigde province. While developing the scale, composed of 30 items, related literature was searched and experts’ ideas were benefited. In order to determine the validity of the scale the exploratory factor analysis was conducted. According to the findings of the exploratory factor analysis, the scale consisted of 27 items and three subdimensions (personality, communication and evaluation). KMO results of the scale was found out as 0.932 and the Bartlett result of the scale was calculated as 3620.662/df=492. The factor loadings of the scale were observed between 0.817 and 0.433. Also, the item total correlation of the scale was determined between 0.67 and 0.41. The Cronbach’s Alpha value of the total scale was found as 0.93 and the Spearman-Brown split half correlation of the scale was calculated as 0.83 in the study. Besides these, it was also found out that the sub-dimensions of the scale were calculated as changing between 0.89 and 0.83. At the end of the study, it was understood that the findings showed that the scale was a valid and reliable that can be applied on elementary students.
