Abstract enRelations between Turks and Arabs started first in the 7th century. In the next centuries, along with the relations, number of the Turks and their effectiveness in Arab geography also increased. Indeed, with the establishment of Mamluk State in Egypt in 1250, Turkish sovereignty begun in Arab geography. The close relationship between Turks and Arabs created need for Arabs to learn Turkish language .Personalities dedicated to Turkish such as Mahmud of Kashgar, Abu Hayyan had great effort and wrote literary works to meet this requirement. In the lights of those surviving works, geography of the Arabs experienced a rather lively process of Turkish language education. However, in terms of Turkish education history, despite the importance of teaching foreigners Turkish language, these educational activities were not examined sufficiently. For this reason, in the study, the presence of Turks in the geography of Arabs until the Ottoman period and Turks’ activities for teaching Turkish language have been addressed, besides, Turkish language instruction books written in that period have been introduced
