Abstract Muhammed b. Hasan es-Semennûdî, was born in the city of Semânûd in Egypt, had his first education here and then went to Ezher in his twenties after having memorized Koran and some religious texts. In Ezher, he became affiliated with Muhammed b. Salim el-Hifnî, the khalih of Mustafa Kemaleddin Bekri and he got the permission of Halvetiyye cult from him. el-Âdâbu’s-Seniyye,written by Muhammed b. Hasan es-Semennûdî, is a commentary on his pamphlet containing the requirements of remembrance and cult, which is the path of the people of truth, knowledge and wisdom. In content, Semennûdî dealt with these issues in his work: Basmala, hamdala and salvala, remebrance, pledge and suggestion, elements of cult, modalities of cult, grades of cult, grades of remembrance, qualifications to be included in mentor, manners of follower, nafs and its grades, sufistic terms and fourty tales of sufism constitute the main subjects of the work.
