It was accepted that the legal problems arising during the World War I would be solved by the mixed arbitral tribunals established in accordance with the peace treaties. This solution was also regulated in the Lausanne Peace Treaty and the struggle for political, economic and legal independence during the negotiations affected the articles about the mixed arbitral tribunals. Therefore, the Lausanne Peace Treaty also differs from other treaties in terms of mixed arbitral tribunals. The aim of this study is to examine the mixed arbitral tribunals which worked in Istanbul between 1925 and 1938 in terms of their jurisdiction, establishment process and procedure.
